New email from UGA about parking

Dear UGA Football Season Parking Customer:

Several weeks ago, we sent a notice to our email list informing potential customers of changes to the season parking pass distribution for the 2012 football season.  If you did not receive the letter, a copy will be on our new web site at the address below and we request you read the letter prior to registering. 

Registration will launch Tuesday, May 29, 2012 and we want to provide you with some additional instructions regarding the registration process.  As this new system is a lottery, and not first-come-first- served, there is no advantage to registering early.  Your registration and parking deck choices can be updated at any time prior to the June 22, 2012 at 5 PM deadline for registration. 

Our new web site is http://football.parking.uga.edu.  Once you arrive at the site, please click the My Football Parking Account link at the top to proceed to the login screen and create and access your account.  Your football parking account will allow you to manage your contact information, make parking deck choices, and purchase permits.

If you are a contributor to the Hartman Fund, please have your fund account number available.  Our system will not allow a Hartman Fund account number to be used more than once.

Sales are limited to one permit per order per person from the lottery.

When making lot selections, we suggest selecting more than one parking deck and adding them to your selections list in your order of preference.  Your list should begin with your most preferred parking deck as the first deck you select and should proceed in order from most preferred deck to least preferred.  You may select as many of the available decks as you desire.  Please make sure you save your selections prior to logging out.

Assignments will be made on a space available basis and, if your first choice is full, we will make every attempt to place you in another parking deck on your list, based on your priority.  Assignment notifications will be sent the week of July 1, 2012, and customers will have until July 16, 2012 at 5 PM to purchase awarded assignments.  If there are any remaining unsold permits after July 16, any residual permit inventory will be made available on a first-come, first-served basis via our web site.

New Parking Rules for 2012

Dear Parking Services Football Customer:

Preparations for 2012 Football Season parking are underway and we have some new and exciting changes to share with you that will impact how you purchase a parking pass for the upcoming football season.  These changes are designed to improve our customers’ experience and reduce problems that resulted from the previous first come, first served distribution method.  This is an initial alert e-mail.  More specific information will be sent later.

For the 2012 football season, parking passes will be sold through UGA Parking Services by lottery.  All customers will need to register (late May) on our new registration web site, which we will launch in a few weeks.  All customers will have until June 22 at 5 PM to register for the lottery. There is no advantage to registering early as the date you register will have no impact on your chances for selection in the lottery.  This year, the North Deck, South Deck, Carlton St Deck, and Performing Arts Center Deck will have season parking passes available for $140 ($20 per game) plus shipping and handling.  Orders will be restricted to 1 permit per customer. 

Parking Services will award the option to purchase a season parking pass at random based on customer deck choices and space availability.  Contributors to the 2012 William C. Hartman Jr. Fund will have priority within the lottery.  A contributor’s annual gift or cumulative priority points will not be considered within the lottery as all Hartman Fund contributors will have equal chance of selection. Contributors to the Hartman Fund must provide their UGA Athletic Association account number when registering for 2012 football season parking. Account numbers may be found by logging on to your online account on www.georgiadogs.com.

Customers who are awarded an assignment (early July) in the lottery will then be notified and be able to purchase their parking pass online.  Purchases will need to be made prior to the July 16 deadline.  After July 16, any remaining permit inventory will be made available for sale on a first-come-first-served basis.
