And Another Win!!
It's bittersweet because this is our last home game! Byron is so wonderful and keeps the tents, tables, chairs and paper products for us the whole year. Not to mention he gets there at 6:45 am, sets up all our stuff with help from the Griffins, then he's the last person to leave after packing all our stuff into his SUV. Billy Wendt had a wonderful idea of thanking Byron. We gave him a few bottles of Red Wine and some cigars. We all signed a Thank You card. I'm still laughing because I asked Kerry Jordan (his niece) to sign the card. She had not looked at the card and assumed it was Byron's Birthday. So, she went and wished him a Happy Birthday! :-)
We had another full crowd at this game. Coach Griffin bought his Grill and cooked the most amazing 3/4 pound hot dogs that Caroline buys from a butcher in Macon. This is one of our highlight meals. Honestly, it's not just a hot dog... I can't even explain it. We had an early game so he had to start cooking early. It was nice because Coach had his Dad and brother at this game. It was wonderful to see them! I'm sure Coach appreciated the help because he doesn't get much from us sometimes.
We also had Tassi and Derek and Jimmy and Bryon's nephew and wife, Jason and Tiffany, join us for this game. Neil bought his daughter and son in law to the game.
We are still excited about the news of Parker and Allyson's engagement. Allyson promised not to be a high maintenance bride and not to have a wedding during football season. Allyson, you can be "Bridezilla" if you want.... it's your day! However, if you do have the wedding during football season none of us will be there! So, you have to keep that promise. We love you guys and wish you both luck. Parker is graduating from Law School from UGA this spring and already has a job in Savannah. We hope to see you guys at ALL the home games next year. Will you please pickup Worm and Suzanne on the way? We have missed them this season!
Worm did make it to this game and he surprised us with a halftime visit from Devin. Devin had come up with a friend and he met us at our seats for a quarter. Suzanne's friends Andy and Cheryl came to the game also. It's always great to see them.
Menu:
The Griffin's bought the hot dogs that I can't stop talking about and Caroline bought her pimento cheese sandwiches. These sandwiches are at every game and the tailgate would not be complete without eating one Pimento Cheese Sandwich. We also had a "Hot Dog Bar" that included: chopped onions, mustard, brown mustard, Slaw, Ketchup, Shredded Cheese, Sauerkraut, Pot of Chili, Relish and Buns. Other foods were a huge serving of Mac and Cheese from the Greens that was GREAT!, Another wonderful Breakfast Casserole from the Knights, all kinds of chips and dips, salads, Bloody Mary Mixers and more Mimosa stuff.
Our Final Head Count: 45
Weather Report was a high of 61 and low of 44 with some wind. However, if I remember correctly it was nice Football Weather! Byron, Jimmy and the Linebergers bring their heaters when needed. Thanks, Guys!
