Missouri (Away) Won

UGA          41
Missouri    20

September 8, 2012
Kick Off at 7:45 pm ET at Missouri

The game will be aired on ESPN 2

UGA's Ranking fell 1 spot in the Poll.  We are now Number 7.

I have to admit that I know NOTHING about Missouri.   So, I Googled them and wanted to share a few interesting facts:
  • The Mascot is a Tiger
  • They are NOT ranked this year
  • We are currently ranked No. 7
  • Their QB is James Franklin and expected to do well
  • Their Head Coach is Gary Pinkel (we might have fun with that name!)
  • Gary Pinkel has been the Coach since 2001
  • Coach Richt was hired slightly before the 2001 season. UGA was ready to replace Coach Donnan.  (basically the same time as Coach Pinkel)
  • Coach Pinkel's overall records is 84-54 at Missouri
  • Coach Richt's record is 107-38 at UGA
  • The stadium official size is 71,004 but they are expecting over 75,000 fans inside the stadium for this game.
  • Sanford's stadium official size is 92,746.  The 7th largest stadium in the NCAA. Here is a little UGA football fact... Sanford Stadium was originally located at Herty Field. In 1911,  the stadium was moved to the center of campus at Sandford Stadium. (That was for you, Jamie Jordan!)
  • The fans have a chant where they yell "MIZ-ZOU".  One half of the stadium yells MIZ and the other half yells ZOU.  Hmmm.... this will be interesting to hear.
  • We all know what we cheer!
  • Apparently, the fans wear Gold shirts to the home games.
  • I'm so happy I'm an UGA fan and get to wear Red and Black!
  • It was posted that the fans like to tailgate and it has been reported they get there as early as 10:00 a.m. I couldn't stop laughing when I read that! Byron and the Griffins would be bored in Missouri!
  • We have rules that says we are not allowed to start taillgating until 7 a.m
  • This is the first season they have sold out of season tickets.  Welcome to the SEC!
  •  The spread for this game is 3.5
  • Expected score UGA 31 vs Missouri 27 (according to a CBS article)

Another Tiger to cheer against
Truman the Tiger

Truman the Tiger was named after President
Harry S. Truman who was born in Missouri.
He's supposed to be a Bengal Tiger like their
colors Gold and Black.
Hairy Dawg is so much Cooler!

Hairy Dawg made his first appearance at
the Sugar Bowl in 1981. Forbes ranks Hairy
Dawg  Number 3 in the list of "America's
Top 10 Sports Mascots".

David Thompson, Jimmy & Mary

I think Ricky & Alane
are trying to play footsies

Some serious Cheering going on.

Enough Said.....

Good Times before Kick Off

WE WON!!! WOO-HOO!!
